Lineage
Designated as 3549th USAF Recruiting Squadron and activated at Tinker AFB, OK, effective 1 October 1977. Redesignated to 349th USAF Recruiting Squadron on 30 September 1992, and to 349th Recruiting Squadron 1 April 1994.
Mission
The mission of the 349th Recruiting Squadron is to inspire, engage and recruit the brightest, most competitive and diverse men and women for service in America’s Air Force. The geographic area of responsibility includes most of Oklahoma and Kansas, and the western half of both Missouri and Arkansas - a total of nearly 184,000 square miles. The squadron consists of 110 military and civilian personnel who work at the squadron headquarters, 8 flight offices, 48 recruiting offices, and 2 Military Entrance Processing Stations
