First Sergeants Corner

SENIOR MASTER SERGEANT LISA S. SEARS

Senior Master Sergeant Lisa S. Sears is the 349th Recruiting Squadron First Sergeant, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.  Sergeant Sears serves as the principal advisor to the squadron commander on matters concerning the health, morale, welfare, quality of life, standards and discipline, and professional development of 99 enlisted and officer personnel assigned throughout Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and Kansas.  Her region spans over 183,000 square miles, 48 office locations, and 2 Military Entrance Processing Stations.

SMSgt Lisa Sears is originally from Cardington, Ohio and after graduating from High School she decided to learn a new trade and see the world.  The Air Force decided to train her to be a Maintenance Scheduler which she did for 17 years before becoming a First Sergeant.

During her first 8 years she saw a lot of California while serving at three different locations.  Finally, she received her first overseas assignment to Korea.  While Korea was not her dream assignment she made every effort to enjoy the remote tour and saw the country and experienced the culture.  Within a year the country had been toured and it was off to another far away destination:  Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota.  After several long winters and scheduling B-52’s for 7 years it was finally time to move again.  The next assignment she received her dream assignment to Geilenkirchen AB, Germany.  SMSgt Sears was assigned to the NATO AWACS E-3A Component, Geilenkirchen, AB, GE, where she was the Superintendent, E-3A Maintenance Plans and Scheduling. While working with NATO forces in Germany she finally decided to seek new challenges and applied to become a First Sergeant.

SMSgt Sears is married to MSgt (retired) Jason Sears and they have four boys, Justin 20, Cody 17, Zachary 14 and Hunter 10 that keep them busy and entertained.
